Congratulo-me com a publicação do Guia da Comunidade Portuguesa na Bélgica, pois corresponde a duas urgências manifestas: por um lado, habilitar os portugueses residentes com um instrumento de consulta que os faça conhecidos entre si, o que muitas vezes, com a dispersão e tamanho da Comunidade, não é fácil; por outro lado, sublinhar, perante as autoridades locais e as outras Comunidades, a nossa existência e a multiplicidade das nossas actividades empresariais, comerciais, gastronómicas, culturais, associativas, etc.
Nesta época de comunicação constante, e num país que é ele próprio um espaço de grande comunicação, este Guia tem um papel importante.
Felicito quem o preparou e executou, certo de que é um trabalho de minúcia sobre a nossa comunidade que, além da função imediata de localização utilitária do que nos possa interessar, será também um inestimável repositório sociológico para o futuro.
É sempre gratificante encontrar uma atmosfera portuguesa no estrangeiro. Agora passamos a ter onde procurar essa atmosfera na Bélgica…

Je salue la publication du Guide de la Communauté Portugaise en Belgique car il répond à deux urgences manifestes: d’une part, fournir aux portugais qui résident en Belgique un outil qui leur permette de se rencontrer, ce qui bien souvent, avec la dispersion et la taille de la Communauté n’est pas aisé; de l’autre, affirmer, face aux autorités locales et aux autres communautés notre existence et la multiplicité de nos entreprises, de nos activités commerciales, gastronomiques, culturelles, associatives, etc.
A notre époque de constante communication et dans un pays qui est lui-même un espace de communication très active, ce guide joue un rôle important.
Je félicite ceux qui l’ont préparé et élaboré, certain de la rigueur d’un travail qui, non seulement permettra de repérer ce qui pourrait nous intéresser mais qui sera, aussi, un précieux recueil sociologique pour l’avenir.
Il est toujours agréable de retrouver à l’étranger un peu de l’atmosphère du Portugal. Maintenant, en Belgique, nous saurons où aller la chercher…

Ik verheug me bij de voorstelling van deze Gids van de Portugese Gemeenschap in België. Een gids die beantwoordt aan twee dringende behoeften. Aan de ene kant een naslagwerk ter beschikking stellen van de hier verblijvende Portugezen. Een instrument dat hen toelaat elkaar te leren kennen, wat omwille van hun aantal en verspreiding niet eenvoudig is. Aan de andere kant naar de lokale overheid en de andere gemeenschappen toe ons bestaan benadrukken en de schuinwerpers richten op onze industriële, commerciële, gastronomische, culturele en verenigingsactiviteiten.
In deze tijd van permanente communicatie, en in een land dat zelf een knooppunt van communicatie is, is deze gids van groot belang.
Ik feliciteer diegenen die dit monnikenwerk over onze gemeenschap hebben voorbereid en gerealiseerd. Naast het onmiddellijke nut dat we eraan zullen hebben, zal hij tegelijkertijd een onschatbare sociologische informatiebron zijn voor de toekomst.
Het is telkens weer hartverwarmend een Portugese sfeer in het buitenland terug te vinden. Vandaag kunnen we die sfeer dankzij deze gids steeds opzoeken.

I welcome the publication of this Guide of the Portuguese Community in Belgium, corresponding to two obvious needs: providing the Portuguese living in Belgium with a consultation tool that allows them to know each other among themselves, which is not always easy, given the dispersion and the size of the community, it also underlines the strong presence and multiplicity of our entrepreneurial, commercial, gastronomic, cultural and associative activities…
In an era of permanent communication and in a country which itself is a big communication space, this Guide has a undeniable value.
I congratulate who prepared and implemented it, being certain that it is a detailed job about our community that besides the immediate function of helping locating whatever can be of use for us, is also a remarkable social selection for the future.
It is always gratifying to find a portuguese atmosphere in a foreign country. From now on we know how and where to find this atmosphere in Belgium…
